Wesley Benjamin Sneijder was born on 9th June 1984, in Utrecht and currently plays as an attacking midfielder for Internazionale and the Netherlands. Quick, strong on the ball and powerful, Sneijder can change the course of a game almost on his own. He also possesses good shooting ability that allows him to score some really spectacular goals. However he may seems to lack some height and this can be a disadvantage when he is against team that features some more physical players.

He made his debut with Ajax against Willem II in a 6–0 win.

Sneijder was given the nickname ‘The Sniper’ for his ability to deliver accurate passes and to score from long range.

Sneijder was married to Ramona Streekstra and they both have a son Jessey. The couple however divorced in January 2009.

He married Yolanthe Cabau van Kasbergen, a dutch actress in July 2010.

He prevent his younger brother to sign with Real Madrid saying that he should make a breakthrough with Ajax first.

Sneijder was named in the Team of the Tournament for his strong performance at Euro 2008.
